|   Parshuram  Temple: This almost 700-year-old temple is dedicated to the 6th  Avatar of Vishnu. The temple complex is surrounded by stone walls,  accessible by stone steps from the ghat and three idols are located  within. Sawatsada  Waterfall: This beautiful waterfall is visible only during the  monsoons. Almost white in colour, its rippling sound and gushing  scene make it a photographer’s delight. Karanjeshwari  Temple: Dedicated to the Goddess Karanjeshwari, patron deity of  the Konakanis, this temple is situated on the base of Govindgad, near  the banks of Vashisthi River. While visiting this temple, you must  also pay a quick visit to Shree Dev Someshwar Temple.  Vashisiti  River: This meandering river is well-known for its enjoyable  motorboat rides in season. It is also the site of family picnics and  outings. Gowalkot  Fort: This is an ancient fort built by Shivaji Maharaj, located  on top of a small hill, opposite the Vashisthi River Jetty. Catch  panoramic views of the valley and the Vashisti River from here.  Adventure-lovers can also head out trekking in and around the  surrounding areas. Koyna  Dam: One of the largest dams in Maharashtra, this dam supplies  water to Western Maharashtra as well as to its neighboring areas.  Spanning 70 km and reaching all the way to Mahabaleshwar, this Dam  offers splendid views of the region. It is also famous for its  sweet-water fish, which is found in abundance here. Guhagar  Beach: This is a pristine beach located almost 42 kms away from  Chiplun. This serene beach is an ideal getaway and a great picnic  spot for those seeking the pleasure of outdoors.  Veleneshwar:  Located about 16 km from Guhagar, Velneshwar is home to a beautiful  virgin beach. Shri Vyadeshwar Temple dedicated to Shiva can also be  visited here.  Hedvi:  Located about 18 kms from Guhagar, Hedvi is the site of a Ganpati  Temple and a beach close to Baman Ghal, where the rocks have been  naturally cut by the sea, forming a gorge.  Walawalkar  Shivaji Museum: Located towards Devrukh on the Mumbai-Goa  highway, Walawalkar Shivaji Museum depicts the life and history of  the Maratha ruler Shivaji. The Coronation of Shivaji Maharajah,  Shivaji riding a horse are some of the notable statutes here. |
