The Genesis:
Deccan was established in the year 2003 and commenced operations in August that year with regular scheduled flights from Bangalore to Mangalore and Hubli. The following month, it opened a second hub at Chennai. Deccan became the first private Indian operator to fly Airbus aircraft when it deployed the first of 5 leased ones in July 2004. It was the first airline in India to link second rung cities like Hubli, Madurai and Visakhapatnam to metros like Bangalore and Chennai.
Deccan is India’s first low-cost carrier and with a total of 40 aircrafts connecting a total of 61 cities in India transcending all records in the airline service industry. Despite their disastrous maiden inaugural flight Deccan has been growing consistently since the time they started. Deccan flies to almost every nook and corner of India with destinations such as Aizwal, Amritsar, Bhavnagar, Belgaum, Dehradun, Dibrugarh, Coimbatore, Katra, Port Blair, Puttaparthi, Rajamundry,Vaishnodevi under its belt.
